Dance School
Created in 2007, the oriental dance school “Alima” is a natural continuation of long standing work, researches and activities. I had a tremendous will to name my school “Hayet”, name, related with so nice and magical memories for me. Hayet, a very close friend to me, from whom I had the honnor to learn so much about the woman part of the arabian – muslim world. But because of technical reasons, I needed to choose another name and, in the process of search, I found the name “Alima” which, translated form arabic means: a woman – singer, but also an erudite woman. In the arabian world this was the name that people used to name the women, who performed and teached this beautiful art in the past.
In the oriental dance school “Alima” you can learn the arabian dance technics. Our dance classes are devided in 3 levels: beginners, intermediate and advanced. A very useful and specific class is “The arabian dance as a therapy”, where a special attention is devoted to the symbolic of the movements, the meditation part of the dance, the deep sense of the arabian dance, its history and the effect from the different movements to our body and mentality.
In the future, I hope to have the oportunity to suggest more and varied classes, related with the arabian culture, history, the history of the arabian dance and its symbolic. Nowadays all this aspects are included partialy in the classes, and in details in the seminars, that we organize periodically.
